What Bivariate is

Bivariate analysis is a statistical method that is used to examine the relationship between two variables. It is used to determine if there is a correlation between the two variables, and if so, the strength of the correlation. Bivariate analysis can be performed in several steps:

  1. Identify the two variables to be compared and determine the type of data associated with each variable.

  2. Calculate the mean, median, and standard deviation for each variable.

  3. Plot the data on a scatterplot to visually examine the relationship between the two variables.

  4. Calculate the correlation coefficient to determine the strength of the relationship between the two variables.

  5. If applicable, calculate the linear regression equation to predict the value of one variable based on the value of the other.

  6. Make conclusions based on the results of the analysis.

  2. Examining the correlation between spending habits and age.
  3. Analyzing the association between average life expectancy and access to healthcare.
