What Union is
In statistics, a union is a combination of two or more data sets. It is a set operation which allows us to combine two or more sets of data into a single set of data.
The steps for a union in statistics are as follows:
-
Determine the number of data sets that need to be combined.
-
Identify the common data fields among the data sets.
-
Create a new data set that includes all the common data fields.
-
Remove any duplicate data points from the new data set.
-
Combining all the data sets into a single data set.
-
Verify the accuracy and completeness of the newly created data set.
-
Analyze the data set to generate insights and draw conclusions.
Examples
- Union of two sets of data can be used to identify common elements between them.
- Union of two sets of data can be used to compare their distributions.
- Union of two sets of data can be used to determine the differences between them.
- Union of two sets of data can be used to identify the overlap between them.
- Union of two sets of data can be used to identify outliers.
