Union

What Union is

In statistics, a union is a combination of two or more data sets. It is a set operation which allows us to combine two or more sets of data into a single set of data.

The steps for a union in statistics are as follows:

  1. Determine the number of data sets that need to be combined.

  2. Identify the common data fields among the data sets.

  3. Create a new data set that includes all the common data fields.

  4. Remove any duplicate data points from the new data set.

  5. Combining all the data sets into a single data set.

  6. Verify the accuracy and completeness of the newly created data set.

  7. Analyze the data set to generate insights and draw conclusions.

Examples

  1. Union of two sets of data can be used to identify common elements between them.
  2. Union of two sets of data can be used to compare their distributions.
  3. Union of two sets of data can be used to determine the differences between them.
  4. Union of two sets of data can be used to identify the overlap between them.
  5. Union of two sets of data can be used to identify outliers.
